Singapore’s payments service provider Nets has launched a unified e-payment system at more than 500 hawker stalls out of the roughly 12,000 across the island in Singapore, according to the state run The Straits Times newspaper.
Already a standard payments solution in the country, the new initiative ensure that there will be less fumbling with coins, bills or cards at hawker centers.
This is all part of a plan to complete the first phase of a push to bring cashless payments to Singapore’s hawker centers under a single unified system.
There are a few cashless payment options available of which include e-wallets like GrabPay and Singtel Dash, transport cards ez-link and Nets FlashPay, and credit cards such as Visa, American Express and Mastercard. To find out the list of the stalls involved, go to epaysg.com
